How to use this tool
A slug is the readable part of a URL describing the page content ("/my-article" instead of "/?p=1234"). It's an important SEO element: good slugs contain main keywords and stay short. This tool produces the ideal slug in one go: strips accents, lowercases, replaces spaces and punctuation with the chosen separator.
Concrete examples
- "The 10 Best SEO Tools" → "the-10-best-seo-tools"
- "Coffee & croissants" → "coffee-croissants"
- "To school!" → "to-school"

Frequently asked questions
- Hyphen or underscore?
- Hyphen (-) is the SEO standard: Google treats it as a word separator, underscores not. Use _ only for technical identifiers, never for URLs.
- Should I keep digits?
- Yes, digits are allowed and often useful ("top-10-2026"). The tool keeps them by default.
- Ideal slug length?
- 3 to 5 words, around 60 characters max. Longer slugs get truncated in Google's search results and lose impact.
